👗 Bidyadanga Clothes Day 👖 🤝 This is the Brainchild of our new case manager in Bidyadanga – Lisa Calcaterra. “I wanted to contribute to the community and help families, I thought so many people throw out clothes, this would be perfect! I started with my own bags of clothes, then I noticed on the Broome Noticeboard, every now and then people posting, looking for places to donate their clothes. I would offer to pick them up as I thought donating to the community would be an amazing idea,” she said. KRCIC staff also contributed with bags of clothes. Lisa quickly spread the word to her networks, with friends contributing, as well as kind donations from Eco Beach Wilderness Retreat. “I had collected such a broad range of clothes for all ages. And that’s how KRCIC Bidyadanga Clothes Day began! I will continue to collect clothes and try and do this regularly. It was amazing to see kids and families walking out with bags of clothes,” she said. #CDP | #CaseManagement | #SupportingCommunities | #BidyadangaClothesDay

🎨 The Bidyadanga Artists worked closely with Carly Day from the Broome Circle Artist Away from Home Program to create seven magnificent artworks for the exhibition. The artists spent 2 consecutive weeks in Broome working on their artworks for the exhibition. The exhibition is an annual exhibition showcasing a collective of established artists from the north and is organised by Kimberley Arts Network, Shire of Broome, and Broome Civic Centre. 🤝 It was a great opening night with the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his wife attending the event and meeting the Bidyadanga artists. 🙏 Special thanks to Carly Day, KAN, Bidyadanga Community - BACLG and our amazing Community Programs Officer Ingrid Elmitt for supporting the artists to be part of this event. #ArtAboveThe26th | #BidyadangaArtists | #KimberleyArtsNetwork | #IndigenousArtists
